The Limassol Marathon (OPAP Limassol Marathon), which takes place in early spring, is & nbsp; the perfect preparation & nbsp; for other events such as the Marathon of London.
Earlier this year, the British runner GILL BLAND decided to I take this opportunity to run fast in the gentle streets of the Cypriot city to test my strength after the birth of a child.
Her result is impressive: she ran in the Limassol Women's Marathon & nbsp; 2:58:58 and finished fourth and in London she finished in 2: 57 : 14.
She shared her impressions of the Limassol Marathon.
"Being a passionate marathon runner who trained hard for a few years before becoming pregnant , I wanted to find a suitable fight to test my strength one year after having a baby.It was important for me that such a fight was perfect in all my requirements and lasted about the same time as the London Marathon, so that I could then safely take part in it and warm up.
It seemed to me that the Limassol Marathon & nbsp; combines everything you need: gentle, wide and smooth roads , enough competition to motivate me to give it my all without stress and I'm interested in the extra bonuses & nbsp; the sun, the beach and the great food to enjoy after the race. & nbsp; That's exactly what I needed.
An incredibly hot Sunday morning in March, I was at the beginning. Next to me & nbsp; the waves of the Mediterranean were beating & nbsp; - I had to move from them to the depths of the island, to then return to the city.As usual with marathons, there were several deserted sections of the track, but the organizers managed to bring the drummers to the most remote places.
I liked that & nbsp; the route was po It was conveniently divided into quarters and all sections of the route were close to the finish line. The marathon was also attended by international athletes and locals - which means I had & nbsp; great company in the race.
The second part of the race takes place on the shore, where I had the chance & nbsp; to run next to the local champion and her coach b >, which I supported as we got back to the top of town and the finish - & nbsp; in the water after running.
Yes, the Limassol Marathon justified clearly all my expectations. I will definitely be back next year and try to win an award! "
