Dear runners,
Greetings from Limassol, Cyprus.
The last months have been extremely difficult for the whole world. The Covid-19 Pandemic changed our lives, put most of us in quarantine for weeks and has taken away the opportunities of running in mass participation events.
We are hopeful that things will change for the better. In Europe and most parts of the western world, it looks like the pandemic is fading out and things are gradually returning to normal. We all have high hopes in the work of doctors and scientists and the preparations they are making for a future outbreak which in no case should have the disastrous impact of the first one.
Two and a half months ago, we took responsibly the decision to postpone our event. The postponement decision affected thousands of runners but proved to be the correct decision, as it placed the well-being of our runners, supporters, volunteers and staff into prime position.
In a spirit of optimism, we continue preparing for our event at its new dates which are the weekend of 21 and 22 November 2020.
We have taken decisions and we are enforcing a series of new policies in order to minimize any health or financial risk for you:
1. All registrations will be considered an “Open Ticket” for future events of the Limassol Marathon. The “Open Ticket” policy applies for all registrations for the postponed 2020 event as well as for all registrations with regards to the November 2020 and March 2021 events.
2. We are introducing the paid service of Refund Protect.
Refund Protect is a personal insurance which is made available for all of new registrations for the 2020 and 2021 events. More information about Refund Protect can be found in our website.
3. We are introducing Early Bird Registration for the March 2021 event with a 40% discount. The 40% Early Bird Registration will be available until the 31st of October 2020.
4. We are introducing the Reserve Your Spot feature. You can now Reserve Your Spot and lock down a slot for either November 2020 or March 2021 at the price given on the day of your reservation.
5. The organising committee is working on reinventing the operation of the event for the COVID-19 reality. We will announce in the next months a series of measures which will make the event safer and more hygienic than ever before.
The above measures are measures which make your participation in the next Limassol Marathon event flexible and secure.
*Runners who registered for the March 2020 event have been automatically deferred in the November 2020 event.
In case you would like to transfer your participation for the March 2021 event instead of the November 2020 event, please send us an email at info@limassolmarathon.com.
We hope to see you in our beautiful island very soon!
Until then keep positive and safe!
