Christos runs to honor the memory of his beloved son, Haris, who passed away from cancer. Haris was not only an exceptional student but also a proud member of the Cyprus National Youth Basketball Team.
Thirteen years after his son’s passing, Christos resumed to running, inspired by Haris’s encouragement to pursue his passion for athletics. Running is now a way for Christos to keep Haris’s spirit alive, knowing his son is watching over him and smiling with pride.
What initially made you interested in running?
My love for sports.
Tell us your story, why you run.
I run in memory of my son, Haris, who passed away from cancer. During his difficult years, he encouraged me to return to athletics as a veteran runner. Haris wasn’t just an exceptional student; he was also a proud member of the Cyprus National Youth Basketball Team.
Thirteen years after his journey to the heavens, I decided to run in his memory. I hope that he watches over me and smiles with pride, I run for my son, Haris.
