Yparxo is a Non-Profit Organization in Cyprus supporting education, health, and inclusion for people with disabilities. As friends and wheelchair users, they break barriers and inspire others, proving that disabilities don’t limit achievement.
Last year, they completed a marathon, celebrating the joy of crossing the finish line together. This year, their mission continues, proving determination has no limits. Yparxo hopes to inspire more people with disabilities to believe in themselves and embrace new challenges.
What initially made you interested in running?
We are a team of friends with disabilities and wheelchair users who believe in breaking barriers.
Tell us your story, why do you run?
We run to show every person in a wheelchair that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Society often places limits on people with disabilities, but we refuse to accept them. By participating in races, we hope to encourage others to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and realize that they are capable of much more than they think.
Have you ever participated in races or marathons for a charitable cause? What motivated you?
Yes, we participated in a marathon last year, and it was an unforgettable experience. Crossing the finish line alongside other individuals with disabilities was not just a personal victory—it was a powerful statement.
Are you running for a specific cause this year?
Our cause remains the same as last year: to prove that people with disabilities can complete a marathon. It’s not just about finishing the race; it’s about inspiring others to believe in themselves.
