Milan, who is visually impaired, is an inspiration in the world of sports. After competing in two Paralympic Games in tandem cycling, he transitioned to triathlons, running, and bike races. With the support of his guide Deki, he continues to prove that there are no limits to what can be achieved.
This year, they are running together to support charitable causes, raising awareness and funds for children in need. With every race, Milan and Deki showcase resilience, determination, and the power of teamwork, inspiring others to believe that anything is possible, no matter the challenges.
What initially made you interested in running?
After competing in two Paralympics in tandem cycling, I wanted a new challenge. I started swimming and running, eventually moving into triathlons. Now, I compete in cycling races, triathlons, and marathons.
Tell us your story, why do you run?
I want to show people that disabilities don’t define limits. Running is my way of proving that anything is possible with determination and the right support. I run with my guide, ensuring that my blindness is never an obstacle. Every race we complete together is a message to others that no dream is out of reach, no matter the challenges they face.
Have you ever participated in races or marathons for a charitable cause? What motivated you?
Yes! In the Belgrade Marathon 2024, I joined the Buy My Kilometer campaign, raising funds for sick children. Running for a cause adds even more purpose to every step.
Are you running for a specific cause this year?
Yes, with my guide and close friend, Deki. We've completed many races together, proving that teamwork overcomes any challenge. I want to inspire others to push past their own limits.
